My compassion (and anger toward the organization) goes to the sisters who have been made believe that they couldn't do a happy marriage outside the congregation.You can see real weariness on their faces. The WTS bears, indeed, a huge responsability before Jehovah for their predicament.

i am not proud of that, for i know the pain i caused someone as i look back.. i turned in 4 people for 'gross sins' over my tenure as a jw.

i wish i could take it back now.

were these people guilty of 'sin' as defined by the wts?

well, well, since we have to confess,

when I was single, I had a feeling for a young sister, unfortunately she was leading a double life with a chap who had picked her up in the train. I didn't know she was going to bed with him but I was so upset not to see her attending meetings as often as I would have liked so that I could have courted her, I said to an elder, may be, you know, he could give her a sheperding call to help her since, of course, I had only her spiritual welfare in mind (BTW what is the smiley for tongue in cheek ?) and by the time he followed my suggestion she was pregnant...

and demonstrators disrupting, protesting and causing an atmosphere of ill will at our.

I would understand your complaint if xJWs did prevent JWs from expressing their positions. That's not the case, at least in western countries, BUT, it is rather all the way around : the WTS sets a lead lid upon congregations which results in a general distrust of JWs toward one another, a total lack of sincerity and freedom to express oneself feely about theocratic matters, for fear of being turned in to elders, being reproved for "independent thinking" (YOU, WTS, name it and in doing so you acknoledge the lack of feedom !) and all the rest of it. This sword of Damocles upon the JWs is nearer to persecution than what xJWs may do to expose the actual nature of the WTS, namely a totalitarian enterprise.

Nothing to boast about, but what was to be done ?

Have you ever seen a begging JW ?

One afternoon, in a subway train corridor, I caught sight of a man, aged about 55, who had neatly unfolded a pair of AW mags, was sitting on them and was rather ostensibly reading a NWT Bible. A goblet was near him, showing evidently that he was begging for money. I left a coin in his goblet, our eyes met but right then I didn't know what to do, the situation was so unusual, and I walked past him. I was feeling terribly guilty and after a short while I retraced my steps in order to talk to him and see what I could do to help. Then, before he could see me coming back, I noticed that the coin I had just left a few seconds earlier in the goblet was gone... I was taken aback and decided to do nothing. With hindsight, I still wonder if this man was in real need and was calling for aid to fellow JWs.

i really hate alot of what my witness friends think and do and say and i'm on my way out.

my best friend who i went everywhere with disassociated me.

I don't remember having welcomed you yet, so Welcome !

Hortensia and OTWO told you better than I could have done. I myself, although I'm baptized, am in this sifting process whereby acquaintances in the congregation let me know, through their behaviour toward me, whether they will want to keep associating with me (despite likely adverse elders's advice) or mark and shun me, since I'm not, so far, DFed. IMO the situation is more awkward than painful and even so it is just temporary because you come to realize that you can manage very well without people who subordinate their frienship to your being like them and who are afraid of your independence. Just leave them as pieces of the past and move forward, in doing so you might even let your friends have second thoughts about your attitude and theirs and you will render them a nice service.

i bet that's what the owner of the brand new rolls royce i saw on the way to work, told all of his friends.. as for me, i'm stuck with my honda for a while.

I overlooked that detail, feel sorry for you that you were not the one I was thinking about. The fact is that I knew of a young brother in London (quite a while ago) who, somehow, owned a RR and he was very much sought after in weddings.

personally, i would like to have the choice to end my life if i chose to do so and see nothing wrong with having a professional help me with it.

i have watched several people die and to me it's just plain cruel to put someone through that.

we would never think of letting an animal suffer like that but yet some people in this country think they need to jail a person willing to help speed up the process.

I assisted my Mum (92) pass away and made sure she was properly hydrated through perfusion, for several days, but we didn't want her to be forcibly fed by means of tubes through her nose and throat, as the doctor had told us she was reaching the end anyway, and she left peacefully. Of course you always wonder if you've done the right thing but you have to make choices in conscience and out of love (beware hasty heirs though).

I may be mistaken but if it is an original quotation that you want to tatoo, you must find the aramaic text because, as far as I know, Jesus wouldn't speak hebrew.
